History |
Community colleges are under increasing pressures to demonstrate effectiveness to federal, state, and accrediting agencies. Demonstrations increasingly require comparisons with others on effectiveness and outcome measures.
Until recently, no community college benchmarking consortia have been readily available. The National Community College Benchmark Project satisfies that need.
Responding to requirements for inter-institutional comparisons, Johnson County Community College worked with other colleges from across the United States to developed a community college benchmark reporting process.
Benchmarks and reporting processes were defined, pilot tested, and revised in 2003. The current data-collection and reporting process was implemented in 2004. 210 community colleges from across the United States participated in NCCBP in 2009.
